I was also disappointed it was so devoid of any humor. Elena Gilbert is used to getting what she wants and she wants mysterious new boy, Stefan. They come out under the cover of night, possess extreme agility and seem inhumanely strong. Because of this I expected lots of blood and violent scenes. But perhaps, it’s a little too rushed. The characters themselves were also very predictable.
The characterization is shallow.
I don’t like bloodnonja that sprung on me last minute. Enjoyed the beginning and middle parts a lot. I had some minor issues with the ending but, hey, Tarantino fans – this is your book! The book has a great opening and has many attention grabbing scenes.
I kept putting Blood Ninja aside. But the second half slowed down significantly, and the main character started doing things that I had a hard time believing he blooxninja do such as the incident with his bow.
I spent a bit of time looking online and could not find any information about the rest of this series how many books, next release date, etc.
The locations in the book are in fact based on real places such as Minata, Shirahama, Nagoya and the dead volcano crater which adds a bit of a historical twist and blends in reality with the fiction.
