She looks again at Ryan. Then we see the story of Emma and follow her as we learn about her clooaked, who turns out to be manipulative. So before I even crack it open, this book has made a terrible impression on me. I can now retell it by heart, after reading it over a times, no hyperbole. But the great thing about him being kind of clueless is Meg — Meg is a great foil for Cloaed, and she’s intriguing and strong and really interesting. When cpoaked is approached by a princess for the opportunity to find her brother who was transformed into a frog, he thinks she is crazy.
Legends in Exilewhich is just an amazing mix of fairytales. I also hated how Todd the fox just so happened to be important to both Johnny’s quest and personal life It was just so confusing because it was based off of so many different fairy tales that I had trouble of keeping track of what was actually going on.

I also think it was enjoyable to me as I listened to the audio book version while driving a long distance, something nice and easy for the drive. Recently, modern spin-offs of classic fairy tales have become a major hit with both the young and old.
Surely there is something wrong in the picture? This story follows the life of Johnny, a seventeen-year-old who aspires to be a shoe designer, but what he does is help out with his family’s business.
Her mom has just taken a second job because they don’t even make enough in the business to pay the bills. Alex Flinn, a female?!
Fade to Black is perhaps Flinn’s second-best known realistic novel and a frequent high school required read. Johnny suddenly goes from living a boring life to a full on adventure of a lifetime, all to help a princess in distress. I, too, am in ze family business.
Flinn’s books seem to appeal to teens who might otherwise prefer not to read, which is the charge of the Alxe Picks for Reluctant Young Adult Readers list.
How can you not like a character like that? I try to jump back.

Maybe it was the constant shoe talk, or the random quotes about shoes from things that seemed geared more towards females, like Roxanne or Into the Woods… Or maybe it was just the way he sounded, just… like a girl, not a guy. One of the most annoying things about this book was the princess. Flinn’s Mirrored is a retelling of Snow White set in Miami Florida in the s and the present day.
He did tons of different voices and accents for all of the characters and that made it so much more enjoyable. But unfortunately, this book fell short in its execution. Cloaked is an enjoyable, fun, and adventurous book. I was born on Long Island and grew up on a street called Salem Court. Its been months since I’ve read this book, so I can’t really go deeper with things I disliked.

The only kids I knew at that age it’s billed as being a book suited for grades 6 through 9 who knew that correctly before it came up in our English class lesson plan were the avid readers.
